Zoonoses control senior expert at Ministry of Agriculture, Ethiopia
Gashaw Adane Erkyihun is a dedicated veterinary public health expert with over 25 years of experience in Ethiopia’s agricultural and health sectors. With a Master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health, he serves as a senior expert in zoonotic diseases, food safety, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) control at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. Gashaw has consistently championed the One Health approach, bridging human, animal, and environmental health domains. He has led district agricultural departments and participated in numerous international training programs from organizations such as FAO, WHO, JICA, and WOAH. Known for his integrity, teamwork, and deep-rooted passion for public health, Gashaw remains committed to advancing national and global efforts in disease prevention and food quality. He actively mentors others and volunteers his time to community health awareness. Fluent in Amharic and English, he is also a loving family man who enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with children.
