She completed her Matriculation and F.Sc. from esteemed institutions in Lahore, securing First Division grades. Her undergraduate studies culminated in a B.Sc. from the University of the Punjab in 1993. She topped her class in her M.Sc. (Botany) from the same university in 1995, earning multiple gold medals. She later pursued a Ph.D. in Botany (MS leading to PhD) at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), completing it in 2013, further solidifying her expertise in plant sciences and biochemistry.

She has been Dean of Sciences and Head of Department (HOD) at Government Queen Mary Graduate College, Lahore. Previously, she contributed significantly to LCWU in several leadership and academic development roles including Ph.D. program coordinator, QEC coordinator, Board of Studies member, and member of the academic council.
